Seen ("we", "our", "us") operates the Seen mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our app.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information: email address and authentication credentials when you sign up.
- Profile information: name, age, gender, bio, preferences, and compatibility signals you share during onboarding.
- Photos and videos: media you upload to your profile. We access your camera and photo gallery only when you explicitly choose to take or select photos.
- Messages: conversations with your matches through the in-app chat.
Information collected automatically
- Location: approximate location (with your permission) to find matches near you.
- Device information: device type, operating system, and push notification tokens for delivering notifications.
- Usage data: interactions with the app to improve our service.
How We Use Your Information
- Build and maintain your compatibility profile.
- Enable AI agent conversations to assess compatibility with other users.
- Surface matches and facilitate human conversations.
- Send push notifications about matches, messages, and daily reports.
- Process in-app purchases and manage your credit balance.
- Improve and personalize the app experience.
AI Processing
Seen uses AI agents that converse on your behalf to assess compatibility before you meet other users. Your profile signals, preferences, and dealbreakers are shared with your AI agent. Conversations between AI agents are stored and made available to both users as part of the match process.
Camera and Photos
We request camera permission so you can take profile photos directly within the app. We also access your photo gallery when you choose to upload existing photos. We do not access your camera or photos without your explicit action.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase infrastructure with row-level security policies ensuring users can only access their own data and their matches' shared information. We use encryption in transit and at rest.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- AI providers: to power agent conversations and compatibility assessments (processed data only, not raw personal details).
- Payment processors: Google Play for in-app purchases.
- Infrastructure providers: for hosting, storage, and push notifications.
Your Rights
- Access and download your personal data.
- Delete your account and associated data.
- Opt out of push notifications.
- Revoke camera and location permissions at any time through your device settings.
Data Retention
We retain your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where required by law.
